Caimito is one of the smallest and poorest communities in the outskirts of San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico. Reverend Juan Figueroa and his wife Isabella have been serving the Caimito community for 35 years; called to be salt and light for those in need. They dreamed of a place in the community that people could come and be refreshed: A place where they could meet Christ and experience God’s love. The Christian Community Center is open 24-7 and provides medical care, hot meals, job training, youth programs, fellowship and more.

The Community Center is supported by Second Union Church, which is an interdenominational, English speaking congregation founded in 1964. The church is blessed with a vast diversity of cultural and Christian denominational backgrounds, ages and traditions. Three of the ministries that are supported by the church are: Christian Community Center (our main site); the Heart To Heart ministries (feeding the homeless) and Hogar Ninito Jesus (shelter for abused/neglected children 0-7 years old).

Our team will partner with the Community Center and Second Union Church and participate in a variety of their ministries and outreaches. We will serve hot lunches to community members, spend time with the children at Hogar Ninito Jesus, and generally seek to bless and serve in any way we can.
